You will be the right hand of our colleagues responsible for the Student, Travel & Life Insurance business lines. You will take care of the day-to-day sales support and account management work behind our proposals, policies and broker relationships, so that our senior sales colleagues can focus on winning and developing business. No prior insurance experience is required: you will be trained on the job and will work closely with experienced colleagues in Sofia, Vienna and our other offices.

The work is varied. One day you may prepare a proposal for a student going to a US university, the next day you may reconcile a monthly invoicing report with a broker, or help a company client get started on our online travel portal.

Your responsibilities:

Student & Travel business

• Quote intake: receiving and logging quote requests from brokers and colleagues, checking that the information is complete, and chasing missing data (dates, age, destination, university).
• Eligibility checks: checking whether a request can be covered, e.g. university insurance-waiver requirements for US students, age limits and country exclusions for travel.
• Premiums and proposals: calculating premiums with our calculators and preparing proposals for review by the Head of Student & Travel.
• Follow-up: sending proposals, following up on decisions, and keeping the status of open requests up to date.
• Policy issuance support: preparing clients on boarding documents, forwarding invoices to brokers and clients, and coordinating with our Enrollment and Finance teams.
• Renewals: keeping track of upcoming renewals and preparing renewal proposals.
• Monthly broker invoicing: extracting data from our policy system, turning it into client-readable reports, cross-checking it with the broker, and passing it on to Finance for invoicing.
• Portal onboarding and monitoring: helping business travel clients get started on our B2B portal and watching the usage of prepaid travel days, so clients can top up in time.

Life business

• Pre- and post sales support: supporting our Head of Life all documents related to preliminary proposals (KYC, group application, medical questionnaire where applicable).
• Documents and data: Compliance follow-up, e.g. KYC and document completeness and regulatory deadlines. Invoicing. Premium chasing and payment reminders. Renewal calendar, timely reminders to brokers and colleagues, forwarding payment requests and welcome guides.
• Filing and handover: filing and storing proposals, census data and KYC documents correctly, and handing complete packages over to other teams.
• Renewals and policy documents: maintaining the renewal calendar and reminding brokers and colleagues in good time; forwarding payment requests and welcome guides.

For all areas

• Broker contact: supporting broker relationships through professional, friendly and timely communication.
• Improving how we work: suggesting, testing and helping to implement ways in which Excel, automation and AI tools (e.g. Claude, ChatGPT) can speed up our manual routines, such as the waiver check, proposal preparation and invoicing reports.
• Cross-functional work: occasional contact with colleagues in enrollment, finance, IT, marketing and underwriting.

Please note: this is a support and account management role. Underwriting decisions and the negotiation of commercial terms remain with our senior colleagues.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Education:

• Currently studying, or recently graduated, in finance, banking, insurance, business or a related field (Bachelor’s level).

Skills & Experience:

• Excellent command of English, written and spoken.
• Strong analytical skills and a careful, structured way of working; attention to detail with numbers and documents.
• Good Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables); Word and PowerPoint basics.
• Positive, ambitious and curious: you enjoy variety and learn quickly.
• Flexible in your working arrangements: a large part of our student business is in the US, so you should be able to work some hours in a later time slot to overlap with US time zones.
• A high level of integrity and discretion, as you will handle personal and confidential client data.
• Open to working in a multicultural, international environment and comfortable communicating with colleagues and brokers across time zones.
• No prior insurance experience required; full training is provided.

We’re looking for an open-minded, curious junior talent to join our Group Health/Medical Insurance Underwriting team. You don’t need prior underwriting experience — we’re looking for someone who is still studying (or recently graduated) in finance, banking, insurance or a related field, genuinely interested in the insurance industry, and comfortable using AI tools to think about problems differently. You’ll be trained on the job and will work closely with our senior underwriters on the existing portfolio of annually renewable group medical insurance policies and on new business.

Your responsibilities:

• Supporting risk assessment and pricing: helping analyse requested insurance benefits, comparing them with dhig’s standard offering, and learning how a group’s risk profile (industry, geography, claims history) feeds into pricing.
• Assisting with proposals: helping prepare indicative proposals and offers under senior underwriters’ supervision.
• Bringing an AI/fresh perspective: suggesting how AI tools or automation could support or speed up our underwriting processes, and helping test or pilot such ideas with the team.
• Learning documentation and referral practices: understanding how assumptions are documented and when cases need to be escalated.
• Cross-functional exposure: occasional contact with colleagues in sales, claims, enrollment and, from time to time, legal and finance.
• Occasional client/reinsurer contact: you may be invited to join calls with brokers, reinsurers or clients alongside a senior colleague, purely to observe and learn.
